General nursing and midwifery program deals with nursing, health care, and midwifery subjects. Usually, the GNM course is spread over 38 months

To demonstrate competency in providing health care to individual whether sick or well.
To function effectively with members of the team and community applying knowledge of human relations and communication skills in her work
To mobilize community resources and involve in working with them
To demonstrate interest in activities of professional organization.

1.	Course Name	General Nursing and Midwifery
2.	Seats	60 Seats
3.	Duration	3 Years
4.	Age & Sex	The candidate must be between the age of 17 to 35 years as on 31^st December 2025. Course available for female candidates only.
5.	Nationality	Must be a permanent resident of West Bengal uninterruptedly for at least last five years.
6.	Education	Must pass ‘10+2’ examination from any recognized Board with at least 40% marks in aggregate. Must pass in English with at least 40% marks in ‘10+2’ examination. Candidates passing (10+2) in Vocational Stream must be from any one of the following three disciplines.1. Health Care Science 2. Agriculture 3. Home Science
7.	Medical Fitness	All candidates must be medically fit for the course and produce a Medical Fitness Certificate at the time of admission.
8.	Selection Procedure	West Bengal joint entrance board website www.wbjeeb.in should be followed.
9.	Vacations & Holidays	As per norms laid down by West Bengal Nursing Council.
10.	Examination	A candidate shall be eligible for examination as per the rules laid down by the West Bengal Nursing Council & Indian Nursing Council.
11.	Registration	The students who are declared successful in the final year examination are eligible for registration with the W.B.N.C. as registered nurse and registered midwife.
12.	Commencement of Course	1^st August, 2025 (Tentative)

Schedule for Admission: As per schedule published by WBJEEB/NEET Terms & conditions related to fees & payment:

Fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances
All the selected candidates will have to deposit the annual Course fees for the academic year on the day of admission.
Failure to deposit the fees on the day of admission will lead to cancellation of admission and the seat being offered to the next candidate.
